I understand that issues and concerns related to mental health can feel overwhelming and isolating at times. By establishing a personal connection rooted in compassion and understanding, we will work together to navigate life’s most daunting challenges and clarify what’s most important to you. My approach to therapy utilizes a Cognitive-Behavioral framework that draws from additional evidence-based techniques in order to provide effective and efficient treatment and care.
Dr. Lawlor’s clinical interests are in working with women facing the challenges of fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, peripartum/postpartum depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and managing a healthy work-life balance, and grief and loss.
She received her doctorate from the joint program between the Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. Dr. Lawlor trained at both the Stanford University Medical Center and the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and neuropsychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the VA Northern California Health Care System with rotations in neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation, inpatient treatment.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lawlor’s research experience has provided her with training in psychodiagnostic evaluation. She has served as a graduate research assistant on projects at UCSF’s Center for Reproductive Health and Stanford’s Neurodevelopment, Affect, and Psychopathology Lab. These positions have allowed her to engage with women across a variety of age groups and cultural backgrounds who are dealing with mental health concerns related to medical conditions.
