"I am committed to delivering evidence-based treatments that are developmentally appropriate and approachable, and I tailor my interventions to fit the individual needs of each client. My therapeutic approach is empathic, intuitive, and authentic. I am passionate about empowering youth and families to find freedom from emotional suffering through both acceptance and change. I incorporate modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing.”
Dr. Egan received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Baylor University, where she cultivated a cognitive-behavioral, evidence-based approach to treatment with children and adolescents. She completed her predoctoral internship at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in the Chicago area and worked with youth struggling with a variety of presenting problems at the outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization levels of treatment. After receiving her doctorate in 2019, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she received intensive training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as well as evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, such as family-based treatment (FBT). From these training experiences, Dr. Egan has developed clinical expertise working with children, adolescents, parents, and families who are struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, non-suicidal self-injury, suicidal ideation, emotion dysregulation, eating disorders (including ARFID), and disruptive behavior disorders (e.g., ADHD and ODD).
