Dr. Steidtmann was one of the founding members of PBH and is currently on the faculty of University of Colorado Health Care System. She is an expert in Mood Disorders and Evidence Based Practice. As a former research fellow at the Stanford University Clinical Excellence Research Center, she designed and implemented high-value solutions for improving health and well-being. Dr. Steidtmann received her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas where she worked on a team developing and evaluating a new method of cognitive-behavioral therapy, now described by the lead investigator in this book. She has received specialized psychotherapy training in decreasing stress, anxiety, and depression at settings including the Stanford Hospital Psychosocial Treatment Clinic, the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment. She completed a 2-year National Institute of Mental Health fellowship at Stanford where her research focused on improvement of treatment for chronic depression.
