About me

I view therapy as a chance to collaborate with individuals in a warm, safe environment to build their most meaningful lives. I draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, to help clients identify what is important to them, set goals, and develop lifelong skills and habits to engage with these values and goals. I have specific expertise treating anxiety, insomnia, and depression. I have additional focus areas in autism spectrum disorder and women’s mental health.

Dr. Talbot has been passionate about psychology and sleep since her first experiences as a peer counselor and as a sleep course teaching assistant as an undergrad at Stanford over 20 years ago. She completed her doctoral work at UC Berkeley, receiving research fellowships in sleep and mood disorders and a CBT award from the Beck Institute. She served as a therapist on a clinical trial of CBT for insomnia. As a postdoc at the San Francisco VA and UCSF, Dr. Talbot received a research grant in the area of anxiety, sleep, and exercise and a CBT for insomnia research award.
